Joe Rhodesfeature speaker

Joe has served as the pulpit minister for the New Johnsonville church of Christ since 2006. Joe and his family moved to New Johnsonville from Maury County, TN where he worked for Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home as a licensed embalmer and funeral director while working as the minister for the Shady Grove church of Christ in Hickman County, TN.

Joe and his wife Marlinia have three daughters, Elizabeth, Mary-Emma, and Harper Lei. Marlinia is a Pre-K teacher with the Humphrey County School District and teaches at the Waverly Elementary School in Waverly, TN.

Along with holding the position of pulpit minister, Joe is also the youth minister, director of Vacation Bible School and deacon of education in New Johnsonville. Joe speaks in various meetings throughout the year, enjoys coaching the offensive line at Waverly Central High School and is an avid hunter who enjoys getting out and experiencing God’s created glory. Marlinia is very active in the church and community as she teaches the teen girls class on Sunday mornings and is a board member in our local Quarterback Club.

Spencer Broomesong leader

Spencer was born in Daytona Beach, FL and has lived in Florida, Louisiana and Georgia. He spent his early years in the mission work in Georgia due to his father, Tommy (T.S.) Broome’s work as a missionary since 1968.

In 1985 Spencer began working at The Lowe’s Distribution Center in Villa Rica, GA, as Maintenance Supervisor retiring after 17 years. Spencer and his wife Renee have three children, Kevin, Amber and Christi, all of whom are nurses in Valdosta, GA.

Spencer has worked with the Forrest Park church of Christ in Valdosta holding positions of Family Life Minister and Youth Minister and is currently working in the “Latin American Missions” work.  He’s the Team Leader for the YES II Campaigns and has done mission work in Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador while also working on many hurricane relief efforts in Florida. Spencer has served as a Deacon where his main focus has been Youth and Education. He’s been a Bible class teacher, is a song leader at Forrest Park and has been a song leader at many Gospel Meetings, Youth Rally’s, Polishing the Pulpit, FOCUS Youth Camp, YES Weekend and other events around the South.
